Founded in 2014 by Master Electrician Don Watson, Core Electrical Group is built on nearly 30 years of hands-on construction experience. Our licensed electricians and skilled project teams specialize in mission critical electrical and low voltage systems for healthcare facilities, higher education and K through 12 campuses, and city, county, and federal projects. Through continuous learning, a strong safety culture, and a commitment to quality, we help our client’s meet performance, compliance, and reliability standards while building lasting partnerships.

Don Watson | President
As President of Core Electrical Group, Don brings more than 30 years of experience in the electrical and construction industries. A Master Electrician, he began his career as an apprentice in 1994 and progressed through the field into project management before founding Core Electrical Group in 2014. He leads the company with a hands-on approach, overseeing project execution, financial performance, strategic planning, and preconstruction to ensure every project upholds Core’s standards of quality and excellence.
Don’s expertise spans mission critical environments including data centers, healthcare facilities, and complex fast paced projects. His design build knowledge and practical leadership have helped establish Core Electrical Group as a trusted partner across the industry. Don serves on the IECGSA Board of Directors as Secretary and as Chair of the IECGSA Membership Committee, and he is also a member of the 2026 AGC Board of Directors. Outside of work, Don enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling and exploring new experiences, and listening to live music.
Art Salinas | Vice President of Operations
Art brings more than 25 years of experience in electrical, security, voice, data, and audiovisual systems. A licensed journeyman electrician, he is known for his hands-on expertise and commitment to quality. His involvement with ASIS, GSX, and BICSI highlights his dedication to professional growth and industry advancement.
As Vice President of Core Electrical Group, Art oversees daily operations and financial performance, leading with accountability, precision, and a focus on safety and client satisfaction. His leadership has been key to Core’s steady growth and reputation for excellence.
Beyond work, Art values time with his family and enjoys fishing, golfing, traveling, and the outdoors. He also holds several industry certifications, including OSHA 30, Texas State Security License, NERC, Salient Systems, and Open Options DNA Fusion, and is a graduate of the 2013 North San Antonio Chamber Leadership Lab.
Jana Clarke | Treasurer
As Treasurer of Core Electrical Group, Jana oversees the company’s financial strategy and ensures its ongoing fiscal health. With over 20 years of accounting experience, specializing in construction cost accounting, she brings a deep understanding of financial management within the construction industry. Jana holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from The University of Texas at San Antonio. She is also a graduate of the North San Antonio Chamber of Commerce Leadership Lab, Class of 2010, reflecting her commitment to professional growth and community leadership.
Outside of work, Jana enjoys spending time with family and friends, camping (or as she likes to call it, glamping), and cheering on her kiddos from the sidelines.
Allura Williams | Business Development and Marketing Associate
Allura Williams brings more than 12 years of experience in business development and marketing, supporting organizational growth through strategic lead generation, project marketing, client outreach, and digital communications. At Core, she helps strengthen the company’s brand by creating consistent, high-quality messaging and touchpoints across internal and external audiences that support long term business development.
Known for her relationship driven approach, Allura designs efficient, scalable processes and thrives in collaborative, fast paced environments where adaptability, creative problem solving, and clear communication are key. Originally from Massachusetts, she now lives in New Braunfels, Texas with her husband and three dogs and enjoys traveling, exploring historic architecture, supporting local nonprofit initiatives, and spending time fishing on Redfish Bay.
Jonathan Campos | Project Manager and Estimator
Jonathan is a licensed Journeyman Electrician and serves as an Estimator and Project Manager at Core Electrical Group. Since beginning his career in 2016, he has progressed from apprentice to foreman and now leads project estimation, blueprint review, and bid preparation. His hands on field experience in installation, maintenance, and crew leadership provides valuable insight for accurate cost evaluation and informed project planning.
In his current role, Jonathan specializes in material takeoffs, labor forecasting, and detailed scope development to ensure each proposal aligns with client needs and Core’s quality standards. He communicates effectively with clients, contractors, and field teams throughout the project lifecycle and is proficient in IntelliBid and Microsoft Office. Jonathan is an active member of the Safety Committee for both the American Subcontractor Association SA and Core Electrical Group and is committed to safety, reliability, and delivering high quality work. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter and traveling to new places.
John Barbour | Director of Preconstruction
John brings more than 28 years of experience in the electrical industry to Core, with a background that includes Boston’s Big Dig and major data center and hospital projects across Texas. A graduate of the IBEW Local 103 Apprenticeship Program, he began his career in Boston before relocating to Texas in 2007, where he led a $200 million project as General Foreman and Superintendent, overseeing more than 200 electricians and helping transform a struggling prefab shop into a top performing facility.
Building on his field leadership, John helped establish one of the industry’s first Preconstruction Departments by integrating CAD and Revit detailers with project engineers to create efficient, prefab ready work packages. Supported by his NECA Preconstruction Planning and Engineering certification, he now focuses at Core on increasing operational efficiency through improved preconstruction design, prefabrication, tooling, and material logistics. Outside of work, John values time with his children, Nicole, Boston, and Ella.
Adrian Flores | Project Manager
Adrian is a Texas native who knows the value of showing up, putting in the work, and taking care of what matters most, starting with his family. Born and raised in San Antonio, he built his work ethic early and carried it into a career that’s been defined by growth, grit, and accountability. He stepped into the electrical industry looking for more than just a job and hasn’t looked back since.
Backed by IEC training, an OSHA 30 certification, and his Master Electrician license, Adrian brings both technical expertise and real-world leadership to every project. As a Project Manager at Core, he runs jobs from start to finish, keeping planning, budgets, schedules, and crews aligned to deliver results. One of his biggest wins includes leading the Amazon SAT4 project to completion on time and under budget, a result that speaks for itself. At Core, Adrian values having a voice and being part of a team that pushes each other to be better. He leads with integrity, because how you work says everything about who you are.
Mark Aguilar | Service Manager
Mark Aguilar is a Licensed Journeyman Electrician with more than 15 years of experience in the electrical industry. He brings a strong understanding of both commercial and residential electrical systems, supported by a diverse background that includes hospitals, heavy commercial construction, renewable energy, and select oil and industrial projects. Outside of work, Mark enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, working on vehicles, duck hunting, and golfing with family and friends.
As Electrical Service Manager, Mark oversees daily service operations with a focus on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. His expertise includes electrical troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance, along with project oversight, code compliance, estimating, and customer relationship management. He is certified to operate equipment including aerial lifts, bucket trucks, excavators, and scissor lifts, and is known for developing technicians while upholding OSHA safety standards. Mark’s hands on leadership, attention to detail, and customer first approach consistently deliver dependable, high-quality results.
Edmundo Rios | Technologies Manager
Edmundo brings a strong sense of dedication, camaraderie, and purpose to everything he does, whether leading technology initiatives or spending time outdoors riding and competing with horses, fishing, and hunting. With more than a decade of experience in the Low Voltage Systems industry, he combines deep technical expertise with a strategic, solutions driven approach. As Technology Account Manager, Edmundo supports business growth by delivering innovative technology solutions that enhance operational efficiency and simplify complex systems.
In his role, Edmundo oversees daily technology operations, ensuring projects are executed efficiently and service delivery remains consistent and reliable. His expertise includes access control systems, video surveillance solutions, and structured cabling infrastructure. He is known for his client focused mindset, strong relationship building skills, and ability to identify opportunities that support digital transformation. Edmundo is an active member of BICSI and holds multiple industry certifications, including DNA Fusion Software, Salient Complete View, AMAG Technology, Axis Camera Station, CommScope Enterprise Solutions, OSHA 10 and 30, and the ASA Master Builder Course.
Matt Lindley | Assistant Service Manager
Matt grew up in Marion, Texas, a small town where everyone knows everyone and accountability isn’t optional, it’s a way of life. That environment shaped his work ethic early and set the foundation for how he approaches both his career and the people around him. After graduating, he chose a hands-on path, beginning his electrical career in 2005. Not long after, he took that experience offshore, working on drilling rigs before returning to the electrical industry in 2014 with a broader perspective and sharpened skillset.
Since then, Matt has continued to grow, earning his Journeyman license and OSHA 30 certification, reinforcing his commitment to safety and doing things the right way.
At Core Electrical Group, Matt serves as Assistant Service Manager, supporting estimating while stepping in wherever needed to keep projects moving forward. His adaptability and team-first mindset make him a reliable presence across the board. For Matt, what sets Core apart is the people, creating a culture that feels more like family than just a workplace.
Outside of work, he enjoys time with his family, dirt bike track days, hunting, fishing, and trips to Rockport.
David Call | Technologies Superintendent
Driven by integrity, David Call believes the quality of your work reflects who you are. It is a mindset that has guided his career from the very beginning. Born in Landstuhl, Germany on a U.S. Army base and raised in San Antonio, Texas, David grew up staying active, spending his time playing sports and riding bikes with friends. Outside of work, you’ll find him riding his Harley-Davidson, cooking, or watching movies.
David’s path into the electrical industry wasn’t planned, it was built through experience, adaptability, and a drive to keep moving forward. After being laid off from building circuit boards for Cisco servers, he stepped into wiring new residential homes, a transition that would ultimately shape a 26-year career in the electrical and low voltage industry.
Over time, David found his place in the technologies space, building deep expertise across systems and platforms while earning his Fire Licensed Alarm (FLA) designation and OSHA 30 certification. Today, as Technologies Superintendent at Core Electrical Group, he focuses on training personnel and ensuring every project meets Core’s standards, bringing experience across platforms including Axis, CommScope, Lenel, Milestone, and Fire-Lite systems.
Daniel Longoria | Assistant Project Manager
Daniel is an Assistant Project Manager with more than 20 years of experience across electrical construction, industrial maintenance, and directional drilling operations. His background includes leadership roles as a journeyman, foreman, and field specialist, giving him a strong technical foundation in electrical systems, controls, VFDs, PLCs, and high-voltage distribution. Daniel also brings extensive experience managing advanced directional drilling and MWD operations in high-pressure environments, where safety, coordination, and precision are critical. This diverse experience allows him to effectively support project planning, execution, and on-site coordination while maintaining a strong focus on quality and safety.
Outside of work, Daniel values time with his wife and children and believes family is the foundation of success. When he is not keeping projects on track, he enjoys hunting and perfecting brisket as a dedicated pitmaster or simply enjoying the results with family and friends.
Mike Gatica | General Superintendent
Based in San Antonio, Texas, Mike brings more than 21 years of hands-on experience in the electrical industry. As General Superintendent, he leads with deep operational knowledge, a commitment to excellence, and a strong focus on safety, supported by his OSHA 30 certification. Known for building strong teams and fostering accountability, Mike sets clear expectations and ensures every project is executed to the highest standards while keeping safety and quality at the forefront.
Outside of work, Mike is a proud father who enjoys cheering on his daughter at performances and games. A true Texan, he is a loyal fan of the Dallas Cowboys, San Antonio Spurs, and Texas Rangers, and has a deep appreciation for live music, especially rock, blues, and country. In his downtime, Mike enjoys horror films, relaxing beach days, working on his Toyota Land Cruiser build, and spending time with his German Shepherd, Bowie.
Ric Taylor | Prefab and Service Support Specialist
Ric Taylor brings years of hands on electrical experience to his role as a Prefab and Service Support Specialist at Core Electrical Group. With a background as a Master Electrician and a Texas Journeyman license, Ric plays a key role in delivering safe, high quality electrical installations while coordinating detailed electrical prefabrication across multiple commercial projects companywide. He is known for his strong attention to detail, problem solving mindset, and commitment to doing the work right the first time.
At Core, Ric supports project teams by organizing, planning, and coordinating prefabrication efforts, ensuring installations are executed efficiently, code compliant, and aligned with project plans and safety standards. He takes pride in mentoring crew members, maintaining organized job sites, and contributing to projects that demand precision and reliability. Originally from Florida, Ric relocated to Texas three years ago with his wife to be closer to family. Outside of work, he enjoys exploring state parks, fishing local waters, and spending time at home caring for his chickens and dogs while staying connected with family back in Florida.
Teena Simon | Accounting and Operations Assistant
Teena Simon brings precision and personality to the team. A proud Texas native living in Canyon Lake, she combines a strong background in the government sector with a fresh perspective on the commercial electrical industry. Known for her organizational skills, attention to detail, and can-do attitude, Teena plays a key role in keeping operations running smoothly.
Outside of work, Teena enjoys the outdoors, spending time hiking, camping, and rock hunting throughout the Hill Country. She also values meaningful time with family and often hosts game nights. Whether supporting operational goals or time at home, Teena approaches each day with purpose, curiosity, and a strong commitment to those around her.
Shelby Watson | Accounting and Operations Assistant
Shelby plays a key role in supporting both financial operations and daily office functions at Core. She manages accounts payable and helps keep office processes running smoothly through her strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and steady, calm approach. Shelby is known for bringing structure to busy environments and is a valued member of the Safety Committee, where she supports initiatives that promote a safe, organized, and efficient workplace.
Outside of her day-to-day responsibilities, Shelby’s interests reflect the same focus and creativity she brings to her work. She enjoys cooking, whether following detailed recipes or creating meals on the fly, and brings strategy and concentration to the disc golf course. Shelby also values time spent with her family and approaches every role, from managing finances to supporting team events, with commitment, positivity, and a genuine care for the people around her.
Ashlyn Alka | Administrative Assistant
As Core Electrical Group’s Administrative Assistant, Ashlyn serves as the first point of contact for the office and plays a key role in supporting daily operations. She assists employees and visitors, coordinates scheduling and communication needs, and helps ensure the front office remains organized, efficient, and welcoming. Ashlyn’s attention to detail and dependable presence help keep workflows running smoothly while supporting the broader team.
Ashlyn brings more than 10 years of experience in customer service, administrative support, and behavior focused client environments. Her background has strengthened her skills in communication, record management, and operational coordination, allowing her to thrive in fast paced, service driven settings. She approaches her role with a supportive, team centered mindset and takes pride in creating a positive experience for employees and guests alike. A San Marcos native, Ashlyn enjoys spending time on the river, listening to live music, and being with her family.
